Affectionate
- Our welshies will give continuous kisses
if you scratch their neck. They love to
sleep near you on a bed or on the couch. ( If
you need to pick them up after they've been
sleeping for a while, a welsh terrier will continue
to sleep in your arms just like a small child
would ).
Family orientated
- They love to go with you in a car or just
for a walk with you. We had to start spelling
"Go for a walk" or they won't let
you forget to take them ... soon!
Very intelligent -
A welsh terrier will think things through before
acting on something.
TV watchers
- Welsh Terriers are known to watch TV. They
love to watch animals moving or making sounds
on TV. If the animal runs off the screen,
ours will run behind the TV to look for them.
Much like an Airdale Terrier
- but only in a smaller
package. The Airedale was produced by breeding
the Welshie to the larger Otter Hound.
Known as
the "Urban Airedale."
People who live in large cities such as Chicago
choose the Welsh Terrier over the Airedale because
of the smaller size. It fits in with the size
and weight restrictions of some apartment and
housing communities.
